NAFIS Network staff discussed seriously the country situation of the #COVID_19, how the issue is severe in the region, and the global. Mainly analyzed how the Somaliland people denying the existence of the disease and ignoring the prevention messages by the Ministry of Health and the national prevention committee. People not accepted to stay homes, prevent crowded places (social distancing), and practice good personal hygiene. finally, the meeting agreed on the following decisions:
- To suspend the 1,196 (one thousand one hundred ninety-six) Self-help group meetings that happen every week for two weeks period from 29th March 2020.
- The 32 Community ambassadors in Hargeisa IDPs will make door to door visits of COVID-19 awareness from 30th March for two weeks period.
- NAFIS staff developed contextualized messages of awareness for making people understand how this disease is severe and dangerous.
- NAFIS staff working from home and few key members will regularly come to the office to coordinate the awareness campaign.
