Abdirahman Gaas

Executive Director

He is an NGO leader and activist with over 10 years of experience in civil society organisations, specializing in strategic and political planning and implementing advocacy campaigns. As a director, he is responsible for the leadership, communication, strategic oversight and operational management of the Nafis Network. He has experiences in rights advocacy, policy dialogue, child protection and building strong team within the Somaliland civil society. He has extensive academic and field research experience in women’s rights, violence against women and FGM, and published several articles and policy briefs on these subjects; as well he translated and published the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in to Somali language. Mr. Gaas hold Masters in Development studies from Kampala University and now he is currently doing his Ph.D. in Sustainable Development and Diplomacy in Euclid University. 

Nimo Ahmed

Program Manager

She is a Program Manager of NAFIS Network, responsible for overseeing the overall management and coordination of the projects. She has 9 years’ experience of project planning, management and coordination. 

Fatima Mahdi

Admin & Finance Manager

She is the  head of Administration and Finance NAFIS Network, she is expert and has 10 years of experience in financial management and responsible for the overall office support management of the organization . She is a member for the senior management team. She previously worked with the Consortium of Somaliland non-governmental Organizations (COSONGO) as an admin and finance manager. She is pursuing her MA in International Relations and has Bachelor of Business Administration.

Hibo Mohamoud

Advocacy Program Officer

She works as an Advocacy Program Officer at NAFIS Network, she is an activist and advocates for the rights women/girls and has been active in advocating for the eradicating of Female Genital Mutilation FGM in the last four years. As an advocate her great passion is to free women and girls from the terrible practice of FGM which existed so many generations among Somalis and still its prevalence is high. She is a candidate of MA in Human Resource Management and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Projects Management and B.A. in Development Studies. 

Ugbad Ahmed

Capacity Building Program officer

She is the NAFIS Capacity Building Program officer of NAFIS Network for the last five years, She is responsible  the overall strengthening the capacity of NAFIS members, staff and other anti-FGM/C stakeholders as well, She is lecturer at University of Hargeisa.  Before this role, She was gender mainstreaming officer at Somaliland National Youth Umbrella (SONYO), She holds Master degree in Development studies.

Khalid Sa’ad

Self Help Group Coordinator

She works as Self Help Group Approach National coordinator in Somaliland at NAFIS Network; he has been youth activities for last 18 years. He takes part in youth development, leadership and advocacy for youth empowerment. As SHG national coordinator, he has been effectively working to create enable environment for empowering those  disadvantage women through social, economic and political development and empowerment and coordinates and works with  11 SHG promoting partners in providing technical inputs, guidance, and creating platforms for learning and exchange programs, good practices, advocacy and lobbying with different stakeholder.

Shukri A. Hassan

Vice Self Help Group Coordinator

She is the SHG Deputy Coordinator of NAFIS Network; she has been working with the youth development and education sector for the past 8 years. She is deeply involved in the review process of Somaliland National Youth Policy and formation of Youth sector coordination meeting.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management from University of Hargeisa and currently studying Master of Research, Data analysis and Statistics from Amoud University. She is an alumni of Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) program, at Kenyatta University in Nairobi.

Hassan M. Abdi

Project Manager

He is a project manager at NAFIS Network in Hargeisa, Somaliland where he runs currently women empowering three years project in ten villages in Maroodi-jeh region. He holds B.P.A degree in Business and Public Administration from Amoud University. He has nearly a decade of experience in working both National and International Organizations in the main six regions of Somaliland.
He was trained and certified by International Labour Organization as a Training of Trainers (ToT). During his spare time he offers consultancy and training programs to the existing small and medium-sized businesses (SMES) seeking their businesses to boost and grow and to the new entrepreneurs who are in the process of designing, launching and running new businesses.

Su'ad Mohamed

Logistics & Human Resource Officer

She is the H/logistic Officer in Nafis network, she has over five year of experience. She facilitates new hires for the organization staff. This will include screening, recruiting, interviewing, and placing workers. orientation new employees, and guide new employees policies and procedures of organization and keeping personal information of employee. Responsible for the management of resources, and Office services.  Transportation of goods to the suppliers. She is a candidate of MA in Human Resource Management and has degree of Business Administration.

Nim’an Aden Abdi

MEAL Officer

He is a dynamic Economist skilled in project management with more than 4 years’ experience in development work with communities, non-state actors and government. He has Bachelor Degree in Economics and Post-graduate Diploma in Project Management at the University of Hargeisa and Beder International University respectively.  Currently serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer at NAFIS Network. He has an extensive knowledge, skills and experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes including designing M&E systems, managing databases, ensuring data quality and use, and conducting various researches.

Shadia Ahmed

FGM/C Survivors Support Officer

She is a program officer at NAFIS, where she works on projects to promote the abandonment of FGM and support women with FGM, tackle gender based violence and ensure rights for women and girls. As an activists she wants to see her community to abandon the practice. She Holds a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration from the University of Hargeisa

Amina Mohammed

Communications Officer

She works as a Communication Officer at NAFIS Network, she is one of the activists who advocates the elimination of the Violence Against Women especially FGM/C with using social media in order to promote women’s rights and gender equality. She is a member for Youth Anti FGM Movement In Somaliland, and she is a candidate of M.A in Project Planning and Management and holds B.A in Development Studies
